Naomi Hiyama

How mysterious the world can be, personified in a woman with mysterious beginnings, no directions, and infinite possibilities.

Humble Origins

The story begins as strangely as one can imagine. In the cold, unforgiving continent of Ilsabard, laid the mighty Garlean Empire. And within the capital of Garlemald, she was given a chance to live.

A child laid upon the doorstep of the Garlean Estate, bundled in a blanket with but a simple note: Save her.Fate smiled upon this oddly placed child, a Xaela malms away from her native homeland, was taken in by the owners of the estate as their own, a blessed boon for them. Unable to conceive of their own heir, it was the Former Legatus of the home that took it upon himself to raise her as his own. A suitable heir for their lineage.Eyes upon the Xaela were heavier than any weight imaginable, an outcast from society, and a tarnish upon her family's name. And yet she endured the heavier strikes from instructors and harder lesson plans from tutors, excelling academically and in combat form. It was during this time that she would receive her most noticeable feature.Being capable of accessing aether, and attempting to impress her father, she would often practice in secret. Tutors for magicks were far and dubious in a nation where the pureblooded have little need of it, and yet she truly wished to harness herself to her fullest. However, her control over her latent powers were far beyond her reach, and as a result, the explosion would leave a rather large hole in the shed she used... and her arm completely missing. While she feared her usefulness had become null, it was her father who saw that will to keep fighting in her eyes. As a result, she was one of the first people to receive an experimental arm unit that would replace her missing limb.As she began to enter military service, as those in Garlemald often do, it was quickly seen as disgraceful that such a prestigious home would send anyone less than pureblood into their legion. While she spoke and carried herself with the refinement that came from hesitant teaching, it was very clear none of her comrades wished her presence there in the first place. She was mocked endlessly, being forced to endure far greater ridicule in the eyes of the officers that were there, ready to lead their people to a brighter future. Even if she, too, shared in that goal, the horns and tail were undeniable proof that her countrymen would only see her as a stain on the Legion's banner. It became clearer that her constituents would never view her in the same eyes as themselves, limiting her future in Garlemald. As well, her life beyond that felt a pull outside of the harsh ice that surrounded her homeland, and with careful planning and consideration, she was allowed to flee the country in secret. It was with a heavy heart that she did, however, it gave her an option she would have never known within those walls of her home: Freedom

Continued Tales

While still loyal to her countrymen, seeing them as brothers in arms, she took allegience with the Eorzean Grand Companies to aid them in their war. She fought to hope peace could be made, yet upon her return to her home, it was sadly not a reality.

Putting her combat skills to use, she took quickly the life of a mercenary once she had reached Eorzea. Her skills with her Gunblade were unparalleled, but often seen as a point of contention. As such, she sought to hide her name to perserve her life in hostile territory. It was during a hunting expedition that she came across a strange man. He was large and humble, but his skills tracking beasts and hunting there were something she'd never seen before. And while traveling for a short time, she revealed her plight to him, and he agreed to allow her to use his surname to protect herself. As such, she hid away her Garlean name, using this pseudonym for the foreseeable future.During her time during the war with the Imperial forces, she made connections across Eorzea, from people both big and small, trading information for her services. As such, she's worked tirelessly to establish herself as a worthwhile combatant, and scholarly type, giving her grand opportunities, such as a brief journey to the Stadium, and to walk the Steppes where her people hailed from.As the war soon marched to Garlemald, she enlisted herself to help the Grand Companies safely through the unforgiving landscape. However, when she hoped to see her family once more, the huge tower that loomed over the ruins quickly caused her heart to sink into her stomach. She fought tirelessly through the streets of rubble and rampant war-engines, but upon arriving to her estate, she found it ruins. There was no sign of her family, and with defeat, she left Garlemald. She felt alone once more.Upon her return to Eorzea, she would linger in a silent depression for some time, feeling no connections to the Star she's explored. However, she bottles this feeling up, allowing herself to continue forward to keep on fighting. Where her journey will take her, she doesn't know, but she silent hopes that one day, she can find her family once more.

The Lines that Connect Us

Naomi's connection spread far and wide across the Star, and she's always looking for new names to add to her list of people willing to aid her, and that she can aid.

Common
-Looking for an armed escort? Her Gunblade skills are some of the best, and often can be surprising to would be assailants.
-Looking for monster parts? Naomi's hunting skills are top-notch and, if the Gil is good, may be tempted to get her help for something exotic.-Looking for an adventuring companion? She's often willing to aid new adventurers as much as experienced ones to teach the tools of the trade, as well as a cut of the contract.Uncommon
-Are you from the Studium? You may remember a brief time where a Xaela was among the ranks, learning without causing any fuss or fights, how strange.
-From the Steppes? Perhaps you remember a woman who came to learn, but pledged allegiance to the Metal Men. Yet her bite was just as hard as her bark.Rare
-Are you from Garlemald? Perhaps you remembered the news that spread of a Xaela that dared attempted to become an officer, backed by a rather prestigious family. Maybe you shared bunk space with her. Perhaps you may even know her true name.

Our Destination is Unknown

And while the ending of any journey may be a sad moment, in truth, tis only a mere moment that is a journey that will always continue. Until your time comes to an end, the journey never ends.

Thank you for reading through my Carrd. I did my best to put my heart and soul into this character, and I hope you found her as interesting as I do!Some things to go over
-I do have Discord, but I am very picky about who has access to it. Though give me time to trust, and I will more than likely be willing to share.
-I also do use XIVSync and Snowcloak, if that much is obvious. I'm always happy to share that, as I love to see all the kinds of characters out there.
-I will also use XIVSync and Snowcloak for other characters occasionally that I want to make. This is mostly because I don't want to play through the game again. If you wish to see one of these characters, please let me know. (XIVSync and Snowcloak is a must for that case.)
-I will do my best to match you, this can be from one liners to full on Novella.
-Smut is earned, please don't ask to fuck her for Gil, I will always ignore you.
-I do ask that you be 18+, as many of the darker subject matters can be touchy to cover. I would prefer if you were 21+ however.
